ACOUSTIC MODELLING OF A ROOM

AUDIO DESIGN uses sophisticated software called "CRAS", which is developed for calculations and optimization of acoustic environments for different places such as rooms, apartments, conference auditoria with different sizes and shapes. Usually when new project is started, the first step is to create a virtual 3D model of the room or place. This 3D model is built regarding the real dimensions and shape of the room. After building this model we add all existing interior in the current room - this includes different kinds of furniture, parquets, carpets, curtains and many more. This is needed for calculating the full absorb factor of the room.

After the full 3D model is completed, we can run simulation to see what is the acoustic behaviour of our room. The results from that simulation are several and include: Frequency response, Reverberation time diagram, Positioning of the speakers, Aurelization, Frequency distribution and high pressure zones, and other parameters. After receiving the results, they are carefully analyzed and final evaluation is generated for the room. From that point we can say what needs to be changed, for example if the Reverberation time is too high, this means that we have an "echo" and we must increase the full absorb factor of the room, which can be done by adding a special absorb panels on the walls. This will decrease the "echo" processes in the room and will make the room more soft and audible.
